If you are done trying skin care products that yield no positive results, how about experimenting with something natural – yoga? We know yoga is a powerful healer of the body and mind, but did you know it can also help you get clear skin? This is because different yoga poses make you stretch your body, thus flushing toxins from your system and improving blood circulation. It also increases your metabolic rate and aids in digestion. Once your system is clean, nothing can stop you from getting clear, glowing skin. The healing process is slow, but you are sure to see positive results in a few months. So, stay calm and try incorporating these five yoga poses suggested by an aesthetician school to change your skin from drab to fab.

How to Pamper Your Skin During COVID-19
All salons are closed amid the COVID-19 outbreak, but that shouldn’t stop you from pampering your skin. Here are some of the most popular home remedies to get glowing skin while you’re at home during the lockdown.
1) Avocado Face Mask
Avocado is a natural exfoliate whose antioxidants and minerals remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. Prepare a non-greasy face mask with half a mashed avocado, a teaspoon of honey, and a tablespoon of plain yogurt. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This can be used on the skin daily without adverse effects.
2) Vegetable Ice Pack
Use a cucumber, tomato and potato ice pack to even skin tone, halt greasiness and fade scars or pigmentation. Cucumber and tomato contain vitamins B3, C and E and natural astringents with skin brightening properties, while potatoes can lighten skin.
To prepare the ice pack, wash and use a food processor to grind one medium-size cucumber, potato and tomato together. Put the mixture in an ice cube tray and freeze. Apply a cube on your face in circular motions in the morning. Let dry and wash off. This will help you achieve glowing skin and remove your tan as well.
3) Baking Soda Skin Exfoliator
Baking soda exfoliates dead skin cells and neutralizes skin’s pH levels, while extra virgin olive oil has antioxidant content. Prepare a mixture with honey (an excellent antibacterial agent) to prevent infections and get radiant skin. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda, one of extra virgin olive oil and half a teaspoon of honey in a bowl. Apply the mixture to your damp face and neck in circular motions. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water and pat dry. Apply once a week.
The cosmetology experts at our beauty school recommend a patch test before applying baking soda on your face as it may irritate the skin.
4) Buttermilk Face Mask
Buttermilk contains the astringent properties of lactic acid. Regular use helps tighten skin to keep it youthful and wrinkle-free. Prepare a face mask using half a cup of buttermilk with two tablespoons of yogurt. Apply and leave on for a couple of hours. Rinse with warm water. The result of regular use is clear and bright skin.
5) Green Tea Scrub
The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties in green tea make it an effective home remedy to get glowing skin.
Using green tea leaves on the skin not only reduces inflammation but prevents premature ageing. Prepare a scrub using one tablespoon of green tea leaves, one cup of water, one teaspoon cream and two tablespoons brown sugar. Boil the leaves, then remove from the flame when they impart colour. Allow it to cool and then take two tablespoons of it in a bowl. Add cream and brown sugar and mix well. Apply the mixture all over your face and scrub gently in circular motions. Wash with cold water after 10 minutes.
6) Carrot Juice
Apart from external applications, there’s one internal home remedy to help cleanse your body of free radicals that will reflect on your skin: carrot juice. Carrots contain antioxidants, vitamin A and beta-carotene, and are effective in tackling free radicals while improving skin health.
Prepare by cutting four carrots and a small piece of peeled ginger into pieces and extract their juice. Dilute the juice by mixing in some water and drink it in the mornings every other day.
7) Banana Face Pack
Banana is a rich source of minerals, including potassium, and vitamins A, B, C and E, and an effective means of hydrating and nourishing skin and lightening blemishes. Include bananas in your skincare routine by preparing a face pack. Take a ripe banana, two teaspoons of milk and an ice cube. Mash the banana in the milk and apply the mixture to your face and neck. Let sit for 15 minutes and then rinse with water. After removing the residue, rub an ice cube all over your face and neck.
